A Sad day...

It's a very sad day in our household today. The hunter became the hunted and she lost. A kind neighbor called us this morning and said that they found our cat (she had her tag on her collar) and that it looked like another animal got her. We think it was probably an owl or a hawk. She was such a good kitty and lived 5 happy years. Many would fault us for allowing her to go outside. But, being a country girl, I believe Sedona lived a happy life doing what she enjoyed. She will be greatly missed.
One of the most difficult things will be telling Daniel when he gets home. He loved Sedona and regularly reminded us all the she was "his cat". I'm sure he is counting the days until he can come home and snuggle with her in his own comfy bed.
I know that if I was a cat, I wouldn't wish to be stuck in the house all the time. I wouldn't tell a Nascar driver they couldn't race because it's dangerous and I wouldn't tell a fighter pilot he can only fly video game planes because it's much too risky to do the real thing. I guess you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't ever really take the country out of the girl.
Good bye, sweet kitty...

I am so very sorry about Daniel's kitty. It is so hard to lose pets. We had a loss here, last week. I tell you, every time it happens I think, "Never again! We just don't need any more animals, they will just die!" But of course, when you love animals you do it again.
